F.A.Q.

Brizo is a system composed by a wearable tracker, a cloud data and an APP.

Brizo tracker is a compact wearable device you attach on your scuba gears. You turn it on before the dive. While you are diving it logs many internal sensors with the final purpose of logging all your positions underwater.

After your diving, connecting your smartphone/tablet/PC to Brizo, the Brizo APP will show your underwater path that will be backup on the Brizo Cloud and be shared among your friends.

During the diving activity you can click the main Brizo tracker button to let it know you want to tag a specific place as a Point of Interest (POI). This POI will be displayed in the Brizo APP where you can attach picture/videos/notes.

Remember that Brizo, during the logging of data underwater, it will measure also some important values for marine monitoring/conservation. All these data will be backup in the Brizo Cloud with all your other data and you can decide to share these “nature” data with research institutes around the globe.

During the Brizo tracker working underwater, it logs several data important for marine conservation. Temperature, pressure, water conductivity. These three parameter will be associated to specific position in the 3D underwater space. The combination of geo-tagging and multi variable data is very important for researchers, marine conservation experts, marine protected area manager etc.
The Brizo team decided to share these data to important marine conservation organization (only if you as a owner of a Brizo, will authorize explicitly in the Brizo APP) with the final purpose of monitoring the condition of our seas!

The target accuracy in the position estimation has a standard deviation of several meters after 20 minutes of open loop acquisition. With open loop, we mean that the system is performing a passive acquisition of data from all the (many) Brizo sensors without getting other form of information from the outside (worst scenario).

We consider the water currents (e.g. currents, surges) acting as forces on the underwater body (diver+brizo, Brizo is mechanically and statically fixed to the diver body/gears). So we will measure the accelerations also in current condition and we will use the information in order to trace (log) the position change (e.g. translation) referring to the initial point of the measurement (first underwater position after the GPS shut-down).
